Mission
RAGT 2n, the research subsidiary of RAGT Seeds, has more than 300 employees and is one of the European leaders in plant breeding, with around 200 new field crop varieties registered each year in European Union for 26 field crops, covering the needs of 85% of the European agricultural area.
RAGT supports genetic progress for a more sustainable and environmental friendly agriculture. Our main mission is to offer farmers new innovative varieties of field crops, integrating the latest biotechnological developments. Our ambition is to create highperformance varieties, integrating the societal requirements of a controlled use of inputs and facing important challenges like climate change and new pathogens.Your tasks :
Within our Statistical Genetics Unit, dedicated to developing new methodologies and tools for predictive breeding. You will design and implement advanced statistical and computational approaches that integrate genomic, phenomic, and environmental data to accelerate data-driven decision.This position is central to building modern predictive frameworks that enhance decision-making to accelerate genetic gain :
- design and lead the development of integrative models combining multi-omic data
- develop sophisticated models that combine classical statistical, Bayesian, and machine learning approaches to improve performance prediction
- optimize computational workflows by leveraging efficient matrix algebra, parallelizing and vectorizing large-scale computations, implementing solutions on HPC or cloud infrastructures
- build reproducible, scalable analysis pipelines in collaboration with quantitative geneticists, data scientists, bioinformaticians, and breeding scientists across diverse species
Profile
Your profile :
- PhD or Master’s degree (MSc/MEng) in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Bioinformatics, or Scientific Computing, Quantitative Genetics
- at least 3 years of experience in advanced statistical modeling and/or multi-omics integration- advanced understanding of linear algebra and numerical optimization applied to large-scale statistical problems
- scientific computing skills with proficiency in R or Python and associated library, the knowledge of C++, Fortran is a plus
- proven scientific leadership and ability to collaborate across disciplines and translate complex results into actionable insights
- fluency in english and strong communication skills

Work conditions :
- Location : Rodez, Aveyron, Occitanie, France- Located possibly at one other research station of RAGT 2n in Europe
- Teleworking up to 2 days/week according to the company agreement
